As you will know, our 2020 reunion, due to have taken place in April , had to be postponed due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. Steve Crowley has been working very hard to keep in touch with the hotel events team, even during their extended furlough period.
After the staff returned at some of their hotels, but not the Mickleover Court, Steve doubled his efforts and managed to speak to the head of the events team for the region and, through sheer stubborn persistence, managed to rearrange the dates for the reunion. However, because of the ongoing pandemic the dates have, yet again, been rearranged and the have now been rebooked as below.

You will be pleased to hear that the cost of the reunion remains the same. For those of you that have already booked and paid we will carry your bookings forward to the new dates. For those that have booked but not yet paid we would appreciate early settlement to ensure that we are accurate with our numbers and able to meet our deposit and stage payment requirements.

DATES OF THE REUNION ARE

Single room one night - £70

Saturday evening, 3 course reunion banquet (inclusive of half a bottle of wine and toasting spirit) with coffee to follow - £37.50 per person
As for the previous reunions, Steve Crowley our treasurer will be happy to arrange and accept payment in any number of stage payments as long as all payments (ie the total amount due) are made at least 6 weeks prior to the event. As an example therefore, for someone who wishes to take their partner to the 2020 reunion for two nights and with both attending the reunion dinner, the total price will be £255 which, when paid over 10 monthly payments will be £25.50 per month.
Finally, as with previous years, if any member wishes to attend the 2020 reunion but will be unable to meet the cost of the reunion due to hardship they may contact Steve Crowley and discuss their attendance, in confidence of course, with financial assistance from The Association. It is our aim that as many of our crewmates as possible will be able to attend the reunion, no matter what their circumstances. We can assure anyone wishing to take advantage of this support that it will be in strictest confidence between the member and The Treasurer and assistance can be offered for travel, accommodation and expenses.

The Association can also arrange upgrades to superior rooms or suites on your behalf and would be able to negotiate discount son these rooms on your behalf. Whatever your requirements please ask us and we will do our best to get you the best possible deal.
REUNION DINNER
The cost of the reunion dinner will be inclusive of wine and after dinner toasting spirit and the menu will offer a minimum of two choices within each course and a vegetarian option for the starter and main course. The menu will also include coffee and after dinner mints.
HOW TO BOOK YOUR ROOM
All bookings will need to be made through the Association who will then book hotel rooms on your behalf. This is the only way to make sure you will get the discounted prices offered.

We have expended considerable effort in negotiating excellent discounts on room prices and the cost of the reunion dinner. In addition we hope the hotel will also, as they did for previous reunions, allow a discount on specified drinks purchased across the reunion weekend. This is yet to be confirmed.

We have had extremely positive feedback with regard to the quality and choices of food offered at the reunion and below is an example of the menu offered for our reunions, this being the 2020 menu.

FUTURE REUNIONS
As detailed above, we will be returning to the Mickleover Court hotel in 2021 and, following a virtually unanimous vote at the General Meeting held at the 2018 reunion, we will also be speaking to the hotel to discuss additional reunions at the venue. The repeat business offered to the hotel has, to date, allowed us to negotiate the excellent deals obtained for all three planned reunions at the venue.
The prices negotiated rise slightly for each reunion but, even with those rises we will pay less than we have paid at previous reunions, even those of up to six years ago. We have, for instance, negotiated free use of a meeting room for the AGM and free use of the PAÂ system, reductions on wine with the dinner, great prices on the rooms, both single and double, over the entire weekend.
We hope you will agree that we have, once again, made the right choice. The feedback from those attending the 2016 and 2018 reunions was that the hotel was outstanding, the staff were excellent and it was, without doubt, the best venue utilised to date. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the staff at the Hallmark Hotel Mickleover Court Derby for the superb service offered throughout the weekend of both the 2016 and 2018 reunions.
