The 2018 reunion will once more be held at The Hallmark, Mickleover Court Hotel, Derby. Prices have been set and negotiations completed. The room prices will increase by approximately 3 per room and the reunion dinner on the Saturday evening by approximately 1. Please return here closer to the date (April 2018) for details and bookings which will also be notified by e mail and in our Facebook page.

 

DATES FOR THE REUNION

Friday 20th and Saturday 21st April  2018 - Departure on Sunday 22nd April, however, for those who wish to do so, rooms will be available at the discounted prices shown for Sunday night also.

ROOM PRICES ARE AS FOLLOWS

Single room one night - 66       Single room two nights - 132

Double room one night - 86     Double room two nights - 172

Saturday evening reunion banquet (inclusive of half a bottle of wine and toasting spirit) - 35 per person

The room prices have increased by 3 per person per night but the meal has reained at the same price per person which we feel is very reasonable over a two year period.

We have discussed payment methods and, for those who wish to take advantage of the offer, Steve Crowley our treasurer will be happy to accept payment in any number of stage payments as long as all payments (ie the total amount due) are made by 1st March 2018. As an example therefore, for someone who wishes to take their partner for two nights and with both attending the reunion dinner, the total price would be 242 which, if paid over 10 monthly payments would be 24 per month for 9 months with a final 10th month payment of 26

Finally, as with previous years, if any member wishes to attend but is unable to meet the cost of the reunion due to hardship they may contact Steve Crowley at the e mail address shown above and discuss their attendance, in confidence of course, with financial assistance from The Association. It is our aim that as many of our crewmates as possible will be able to attend the reunion.

 REUNION DINNER

The cost of the reunion dinner will be inclusive of wine and after dinner toasting spirit and the menu will offer a minimum of two choices within each course and a vegetarian option for the starter and main course. The menu will also include coffee and after dinner mints.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR ROOM

All bookings will need to be made through the Association who will then book hotel rooms on your behalf. This is the only way to make sure you will get the discounted prices offered.

We have spent considerable effort in negotiating excellent discounts on room prices and the cost of the reunion dinner. In addition we hope the hotel will agree, as they did for the 2016 reunion to a discount on specified drinks purchased across the reunion weekend.

REUNION DINNER MENU 

Alternative options are available for those with specialist dietary requirements. Please complete the relevant section in the applications. Initially the hotel offered us what we felt was a menu which did not come up to the standards offered in 2016 but this has now been changed to that shown below.

MAIN COURSE  (One choice from the following)

 10 Hour Braised Featherblade of Beef, Roasted Root Vegetables. Red Wine Gravy

Delice of Salmon White Wine and Mushroom Cream Sauce

(v) Brie, Leek and Red Onion Marmalade Tart, Rocket Salad

Sticky Toffee Pudding, Toffee Sauce, Chantilly Cream

Lemon tart, Raspberry Coulis, Clotted Cream

FUTURE REUNIONS

We will be returning to the Mickleover Court hotel in both 2018 and 2020. The repeat business offered to the hotel has allowed us to negotiate the excellent deals obtained for all three reunions at the venue.
The prices negotiated rise slightly for each reunion  but, even with those rises we will pay less than we have paid at previous reunions. We have, for instance,  negotiated free use of a meeting room for the AGM and free use of the PA  system, reductions on wine with the dinner, great prices on the rooms,  both single and double over the entire weekend.
We hope you will agree that we have made the right choice.  The feedback from those attending the 2016 reunion was that the hotel was outstanding, the staff were excellent and it was perhaps the best venue utilised to date. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the staff at the Hallmark Hotel Mickleover Court Derby for the superb service offered throughout the weekend of the 2016 reunion.
